Kensington and Chelsea
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is one of London’s most desirable areas. This is where you’ll find the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum, all conveniently located within a few minutes’ walk of each other. The Saatchi Gallery, displaying contemporary art from established and emerging artists, reinforces this area’s reputation as a cultural hotspot. King’s Road and nearby Kensington High Street, meanwhile, boast plenty of designer shops, spas and trendy bars.
Staying in a Kensington hotel in London or one of the many hotels in Chelsea also makes it easy to explore some of the best green spaces in the city, with Holland Park in the centre of the district, Kensington Gardens on the border with Westminster, and Hyde Park only a short stroll away.
Holland Park is a mixture of untamed woodland and landscaped lawns, where you’ll find the ruins of the once grand Holland House and the park’s resident peacocks. Kensington Gardens has a regal edge as it is home to Kensington Palace, the former residence of royalty such as Queen Victoria and Princess Diana, and current home of Prince William and Princess Kate.
